Samples (animation)

Hello everyone, in an animation of 800x800px, of a simple ring, without much detail, I’m testing the amount of samples. The biggest difference I noticed are the edges, which are left without definition. How many samples should I use in general for an animation like this?

Hi TCP, that is going to vary based on your CPU or GPU, whether you’re using network render, and how heavy your scene is ( caustics, global illumination, etc ). Could you share some more info about your machine and scene? I’d be happy to try and point you in the right direction. Also, what kind of render times are you currently getting and at what sample counts?

Hello, I made some animations for testing and I realized that the small samples make the images look similar to the noise of a camera. But I didn’t understand exactly what the amount of samples changes, would it be the number of images in the same scene?
